Negligent security system at bank results in teller death, serious injuries A Mount Dora bank teller was killed and another was shot in the spine and rendered quadriplegic after an armed robbery. The robber had spent time casing the bank and observed the surveillance equipment within reach to customers at the bank. Raymond Bodiford argued in front of a jury that the robber believed he could collect the money, kill the tellers and steal the VCR surveillance equipment in order to get away with the crime. Furthermore, no working panic alarms had been installed in the bank in the event of a robbery. A jury rendered a verdict for the plaintiff/victims in the amount of $26,917,053 in damages.
